Pillow Case Parties make a difference

ANYONE can BRING in or SEND US
ANY freshly made pillow case for The Cridge.
Remember to include your name and contact information.

Calling all quilters, sewers and crafters! Satin Moon and American Patchwork & Quilting are challenging you to join our efforts to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Every pillowcase can make a difference in our community. A pillowcase can provide comfort , hope , encouragement , and beauty. Satin Moon will work with The Cridge Centre for the Family to provide pillow cases to the individuals, children, and families of The Cridge Respitaity Centre, The Cridge Seniors' residents , The Cridge Transition House for Women, The Cridge Supportive Transitional Housing, and The Cridge Brain Injury Program.

Once the pillowcases are complete and donated we will log the donations into the count of ONE MILLION Pillowcases.

To the person who donates the most finished pillowcases from
January 1 to December 31, 2010 to Satin Moon's Cridge Pillow Case Party collection. Prize will be awarded January 15, 2011!

All pillowcases must be for a standard sized pillow, be usable and comfortable. Pillowcase must be made from 100% Cotton with sewn seams and in good, clean condition. Please wash all fabrics prior to sewing or sending to limit allergens to the final user.Carefully pin a label with all contact information and date so we can log you into the computer when you drop off your pillowcase(s)

A perfect chance to try
Procion fiber reactive dyes,
with incredible colour blends from Color By Accident plus shibori designs.
Easy, fun, magical!

Supplies:

• 1-3 ready made 100% cotton pillow cases white or light to medium colours , prints
• okay. USE UP OUR STASH !
• 3 x gallon size ziplock bags.
• Plastic or rubber gloves
• Wear old cloths- the dye is permanent .
• A small bag of rubber bands.

TO SEW PILLOW CASES
bring IN ADDTION to the above supplies

• One sewing machine and cotton thread plus 1 100% cotton, new and washed , meter
• per case to create simple pillow cases at Satin Moon. Come 1/2 hour early.
• 2 m of 44" fabric (for 1 pair of Standard Cases)
• 2.25 m of 44" fabric (for one pair of Queen Cases)
• 2.5 ymof 44" fabric (for 1 pair of King Cases)
